Evidenced-based Learning

Evidence-based Learning

Our intervention is evidence-based learning, rooted in the science of learning and behavior. Based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), ABA helps us understand:

Our intervention applies these principles through reinforcing positive behaviors, decreasing problematic behaviours and adapting the learning process to the needs of each individual. We focus on the areas of behaviour and emotion regulation, language and communication skills, play skills, social skills as well as self-help skills to provide a holistic intervention for your child.  The end-goal is to provide purposeful skills for the child to live independently and make meaningful connections in the community.

Why ABA?

ABA is considered the most effective and evidence-based intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as for other developmental disorders such as ADHD and GDD. Researchers from Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute reviewed several evidence-based practices and found that ABA techniques have the most scientific support compared to other intervention methods.  A number of state and federal agencies in the US, including the Surgeon General of the United States and the New York State Department of Health, endorses ABA as an effective treatment for autism.

ABA is also recognised as the gold standard and recommended by the Ministry of Health Singapore.

Why Ark?

Our facilitators and volunteers are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA),  who is accredited by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB, USA). BCBA-certified professionals meet stringent requirements and are committed to  ensure that quality standard of ABA teaching is delivered consistently. We take a holistic approach in providing intervention. We collaborate with psychologists, educators and families in order to ascertain the deficits and needs of your child.  Based on individualised needs, we formulate customised goals and teaching plans to ensure that every individual receives effective evidence-based intervention adapted to his/her needs.
